Oh oh oh I loved this! Of course, I probably read it as Buffy being a bit more broken than you meant to write it, but that's me being All About Buffy (yes, yes, I'm predictable) but Bree!Buffy is just... and then there's Faith and it's just... right. Love the darkness of the images, and I'll just be up there re-reading, 'kay?

Fascinating contrast, Buffy as a symbol of hope, Faith the reality of slaying.

I'm not sure I'm sold on this version of Buffy - I tend to think that she'll never leave active slaying behind in the long run, but I can still see the underlying truth here.
