I think Carue might have got bitten by an insect or something at that last island.  He keeps picking at one spot on his right wing, so much that the feathers there are falling out and the skin underneath is red and raw.  He keeps snapping at me when I go near him, too.  Any suggestions?

Yes, he did. I should have gone to him first, really: he can speak to animals, and as soon as he spoke to Carue we knew what was wrong.

It must be pretty handy, having someone who can talk to animals.

There aren't many situations where it's come in handy, but when it has, it's been a lifesaver.

Can he talk to the dragons?

Yes, it seems that he can. I wish we'd known about that when we thought they were attacking the ship, though.

Oh, everyone's fine. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you like that. Our main mast is under need of heavy repair, and all of the sails need replacing, so we'll need to stay here until that's done. We did get off very lightly, though, in comparison to the damage I dreaded when I saw the dragons approach.
