Your tutorials are wonderful and your icons are just GORGEOUS!! *.*
Can I just ask if you always start with a bigger canvas than 100x100? I've tried this once, but after I resized the finished pic to icon-size, the icon looked really different (as in ugly). Any advice, maybe?!
variations is freaking awesome, but it is hell on your psd files because there's no record of exactly what you did. So you have to go back and try your best to make a match between the two from memory. This so much!
I enjoyed reading this, especially because you mention how you were 'lost' and then just threw it all out the window and went a completely different direction. That's the most inspiring part. Plus your cropping and compositioning skills, because this icon is so well balanced.
Thanks heaps for writing this up for me, Samantha!
Aw, yay! I'm so glad it was helpful, Janie! ♥ I am glad I included that then. I was looking at the .psd, and thinking to myself 'clearly, I had no idea where the hell this icon was going for half the time...'. Which, imo, happens a lot during my icon making so why not throw it in, right? XD
