Even the word bacon makes me nauseous. Pork, ugh! But you eat lots of bacon for me, because once upon a time I loved it, okay?
I hate everything when I'm on my period. Everything and everyone. Other than while I was on the pill, I suffered terrible, terrible cramps. I'd miss school back in the day, I'd throw up. We are talking fetal position with a heating pad! Although I've been lucky enough to never suffer from bad breakouts, which is a plus, I suppose. Even now, when I've been warned my face might look like a teenager I haven't had any. *knock on wood*
The only good part best part of being pregnant? No period. It's fabulous.
One day you'll be able to eat bacon again, I'm sure. In the meantime, just think how much healthier your heart is than mine!
I have a worse time with my skin now than I ever did in high school, but it's worse around my cycle. You are very lucky to not suffer with that. However, I'll take a few blemishes to fetal position cramps any day. You take the bitter with the sweet, eh?
It's amazing the effect of hormones, isn't it? I understand exactly what you're saying here. It's not a state of mind or something you imagine, it's a feeling, a mood issue, an actuality and BAM to anyone that looks sideways at ya during this time.
I don't have it as badly anymore
People that haven't had PMS sometimes think it's conjured from an old wife tale, something women believe to justify them being an absolute bitch. Well, I'm an old wife and am here to say that it's very real.
You know, hon? As a woman who is encountering the early phases of 'the change' (OMFG!) I'm never surprised at the far-reaching effects of hormones anymore. The woman's body is truly amazing, remarkable, a miracle - but the mishmash of hormones can go and get f*cked.
*snarls*
Looking forward to chatting to you in a few days ; )
I've sort of always hated the jokes made about PMS and men who assume that you're having your period if you're in a bad mood. It does take away from the fact that it is a real thing. I mean, mine's not so bad that I can't at least control how I react to it, but I can't help the fact that I feel that way, and that's so much different than just being mad about something.
And at some point we get to turn that in for hot flashes, right? Hmmm. This is all so not fair.
For real. I get uber bitchy a few days before. And want to bite people's heads off for no reason. I always find that I'm apologizing for it too. I wish so hard that I didn't have to.
Ah, yes, I know this well. I have the misfortune (or bad luck, I guess) to ALWAYS have shocking periods. Ever since I was the first girl in my class at age 11 to get them. I remember passing out in high school a few times too. The joys of being female, huh?
I don't usually get PMT that bad... for me it's the actual period itself that is the pain (in the back). I usually only have to warn the Blokes Wot Live Here with the phrase "It's Day ONE..." and they retreat to a safe distance, knowing that whatever they're moaning about is nowhere NEAR urgent enough to risk possible decapitation by continuing, lol.
The first two days are the worst for me... after that, I'm back to feeling more like myself. From my perspective right now, menopause is looking a much easier option, lol. I'd rather a hot flush than back pain any day.
I know, right? From blood loss, mainly. At the risk of giving you TMI, my periods then were extremely heavy (and painful too but that didn't make me pass out) It was usually during that first two days that I felt light-headed, sometimes fainting in class. Even though I went to an all-girls high school, it always felt soooo embarrassing for me.
To my knowledge, I've never known anyone who passed out because of their cycle. Wow. You poor thing, and yes, I imagine it was embarrassing--kids are so particular about that kind of stuff anyway, but at least it was an all-girls school. It could have been so much worse with boys!
