It's an old Hong Kong film, made in 1993 by Tsui Hark. It had Maggie Cheung and Joey Wong in the lead roles and is a modified version of the Madame White Snake legend. The designs in the film were really beautiful, though the special effects were sort of cheesy, but this was the early 1990s. So, anyway... *rummages a little* Ahah!
