Though I think hairdressers are deathly afraid of short haircuts. About 4 years ago, when my hair was about the length of yours, I went to my usual hairdresser and said I wanted to chop it all off into a pixie (what Halle Berry now has). She asked me maybe twenty times if I was sure, and then her hands freaking shook as she cut.
The result was awesome, I love it, and still have it cut it into variations thereof, but seriously, getting anything above earlobe-length requires a consent form and several release documents.
Still, though it's not what you asked for, it looks wonderful!
Oh, thank you for the compliments (I wasn't fishing, I swear!)
...getting anything above earlobe-length requires a consent form and several release documents. There was an actual *snort* as I read that....and a snicker or two as well....
Hey, I think it looks super cute! (Although, yeah not really close to your picture XD)
I had those sideswept, long bangs a couple years ago, and it took some getting used to, but I ended up liking them. (Although I did end up growing them back out in the end.)
It was a bit of a shock, looking in the mirror when she was done - I wanted something kinda...easy to run some mousse through, messy-bed-head-but-still-cute. And, I guess this fits that definition, so.... A few hours after getting it done, I said something like, "I'm not sure if I like these bangs", as I was messing around with 'em in the mirror. V walked past, sticks her head in the bathroom, shoots back, "I don't," and just leaves me to angst.
So, your compliment i greatly appreciated in a boosting my self esteem kind of way. And, yeah, I haven't had bangs since elementary school. It'll be fun to figure out how to wear this 'do. ;-)
LOL oh man, my sister totally does that to me, so I totes feel your pain. (In fact, earlier today I took her shopping, and was dithering over whether I should get these flats made by Crocs, because I need new work shoes, and they don't really look like classic Crocs, but still...Crocs! :///// Also they were only $10. And she just looks at me and goes, "Dude, you are out in public with disgusting greasy hair in a messy bun. Given that, are you really that worried about wearing hideous shoes at work?" And this is after she woke me up, convinced me to give up my day off work to drive her all over the Cities going dress shopping, and rushed me out the door because it is Sunday, the shops all close at 5! Oy. So...sisters, eh? *facepalm
( ... )
A) Your anecdote seems so familiar.... Hey, does she ever do the thing where she asks your opinion in the dressing room, and when you're like, "Well, if Bourbon Street Hooker is the look you're going for, then, why yes, those are the perfect pair of shorts for you!" ....and then she gets hurt that you didn't like them, and buys them anyway?
B) I just realized that, completely leaving aside the bangs, MY HAIR IS TOO SHORT TO PUT IN A PONYTAIL.
Thank you! It's finally starting to get springtime-y where I am, so the new cut is just one more sign of warmer weather approaching....is it warm enough to shed some winter insulation where you are? ;-)
I'm not sure why what you just said reminded me of this, but....when I was little, I had this book about a family of sheep who sheared their fleece during a false spring, and then there was another cold-snap, so the momma sheep knitted them all sweaters out of their wool to keep the baby sheep warm. And then all the other sheep were jealous of their colorful sweaters.
Seriously. I don't know why you made me think of that book. ;-)

It's mostly the bangs - I'm not entirely sure what to do with them, besides clip 'em back and hope the grow....

It's stupidly cold here! >___<
Too early to shed anything. Give me another two weeks and I'll cut my curls too.
