Why I Love It: Today is Steve Rogers' birthday! So of course we need to celebrate it with a podfic - a podfic with sunscreen, and pining, and subway rides, and longing glances, and surprise parties, and kissing in elevators. I thought that the lyrics of Fall Out Boy's "Fourth of July" fit Steve's in-love-with-my-best-friend-and-I-can't-get-the-words-out mood - "I'll be as honest as you let me / I miss your early morning company / If you get me / You are my favorite "what if" / You are my best "I'll never know"" - and it certainly doesn't hurt that the song is about fireworks. I loved the quiet, tentative softness of this fic - the way you feel after sleeping on the beach for a few hours, soft and a little tired from not doing much, and ready to fall asleep on someone's shoulder. I hope this podfic brings a smile to your face as you listen - it certainly made me happy to record it!
