When do I have to have finished my story by? All stories are due in on the 22nd August by 6pm PST, though you can post them any time before that if you wish. That gives you two whole months from the point that sign-ups close, which we think should be plenty of time. After the 22nd, we will post a complete list of all the stories submitted for the ( Read more... )

The prompt I would like has already been claimed, but for art instead of a fic- can I request if for a fic? And vice versa I guess, if there is one taken for a fic that I'd like to do art for, would that be okay?

That is absolutely fine. :)

I know this may sound really really lame, but what is the diffrence between PST and UST? (UST is the one they use on LJ, right?)

I really suck at time-related things...
:D

AFAIK, the time you get on LJ depends on what settings you're using in your own journal. We had to pick a time zone for the cut-off time, so PST (Pacific, USA) it is.

Thanks for clearing that up!

No problem! Four mods in three time zones, we had to pick a middle ground. *g*

Just a question about posting. I have my Ghost rewrite outlined as five chapters, and I've already written about 8000 words and am only nearly to the end of the second chapter. This will probably be at least 20000 words. I still haven't read most of the bigbang fics because I just dont' have the time to sit and read 20000 plus words. When these are finished, are we required to post the entire story at once, or can we post one chapter a day to make it easier for people to read it?

Either way, I'm having fun with this. Awesome idea!

Oh, and is there a date at which we can start posting, are just as soon as we're ready?

Okay, I'm gonna have to get back to you on this one. The original rule was put into place to prevent the comm being flooded with WIPs, which obviously doesn't pertain if the story is already complete but being posted in installments. And, truthfully, it does make posting long stories a lot less intimidating to the reader. However, I have got to say that regulating stories being posted will be a hell of a lot harder if we allow people to post in parts with the proviso that they are already complete, so I'm going to have to get my fellow mods' opinions on the issue. I will try and get you an answer as soon as possible.

And yes, you can post stories from any time between now and the closing date. :)

Thanks! Don't mean to be any trouble, just, like you said, long stories can be intimidating to readers, and they take so much work to write...Hee!

It's me again, your friendly neighborhood pain-in-the-ass. *grins sheepishly* I asked about posting a chapter a day once the story is complete in order to give the readers manageable amounts to read in one sitting. I still have a chapter and a half left to write on mine, and it's already 18,000 words. I just don't feel comfortable dumping that in one post.

If it's all right, could I post the individual chapters, one a day in the regular fic comms, and then just post the final chapter with all the links to the previous chapters in here? That would give the readers manageable portions, and keep your comm from being spammed by daily posts. I didn't see any rules that said we had to post here first...*raises imploring eyebrows*

Argh, okay, first I've really got to apologise for not getting back to you on the first issue. That was not cool of me. And now I'm paying the price 'cause I feel like the worst kind of bitchy mod when I have to say that the answer's no for both of your requests. Sorry ( ... )

K's, no biggie. You can just delete me if I'm a pain in the ass. I just know that I don't read those long posts. I read caramel_maddy's post, but only cuz she's awesome. I'm afraid most of the rest of us don't have that dedicated a following. Sigh.

Anyway, almost finished, so we shall see what happens. *grins evilly*

Hi!

I just found out about this community a couple of days ago, and I'm supposing it's too late to join. It's just that this story idea which attacked me when I found out about it won't leave me alone. So, my questions are:

1. Is it really too late to join?
2. If it's not, could I claim Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious?
3. If not, is there any chance of being joined up if there's ever a "Reel 2"?

Thank you!

Heya! Yeah, sorry, it is too late to join. If there is a second round of this, then I will make sure that 'Notorious' is reserved for you. As I can't tell you whether/when it will be happening, however, and if you're really desperate to write it, then you are of course very free to do so outside of the comm. :)

Oh NO.

That's very sad. I was thinking there might be a little room for mercy because people can take second prompts after completing one.... *looks hopeful*? Or an exception to the rule just because... well hell, I can't think of any really good reasons as I'm not really exceptional BUT... you might be able to think of something?

I think I'll write it anyway but I just miss out on all the community part of the comm.

Thanks for the swift reply, sorry to keep bugging you.

I'm really sorry, but we've had a couple of requests of late joining up, and we've said no to those as well. Which sucks, because the more movie!AUs the better, in my books, but it just doesn't work with the community set up. D:

And sorry for taking so long to get back to you this time around. *fails* I hope you do write your fic, because it sounds like it will end up pretty awesome.
