Kid buck - Diego - 2nd place out of seven
Yearling buck - Richie - 6th place out of six
Adult buck - Ari - 3rd place out of four
Yearling doe - Fiona - 3rd place; Taffy - 5th place out of six
Adult doe - Madeline - 5th place out of eight
After the show, I invited the judges (a pair of brothers) to talk to me some more about my goats, specifically Diego. They both had great compliments about my goats' fineness of fleeces, and recommended that I give Diego another six to eight months (another full fleece cycle at least) before deciding what to do with him. Upon learning that Ari was Diego's dad, they got into a discussion about breeding back to a white doe to improve on the hair structure and curl without sacrificing fineness. They also said to try to recreate Diego (Dahlia x Ari) to maybe get a girl with the same good qualities.
