it's made by mac, so it's going to be awesome. I <3 Mac (both the make up and the computers - lol!)

no really. i have a couple of friends that have them and LOVE them to pieces. as long as you have wi-fi in the area, you have internet. i think that's how it works.

I have a PC and love my iPhone. In some ways, it works better with a PC than a Mac (such as Outlook syncing, etc).

i LOVE mac computers. they kick a PCs ass to the moon and back. but i don't have one. i'm waiting for my PC to crash (which it will because they are all pieces of shit) and then i'll invest in a mac. ahhhh, macs. <3

i love my iphone. but it does not have a flash although the qualities of the pictures is pretty good even in weird lighting. the internet is awesome and i just use the data plan that comes with AT&T and have never used the wifi because i see no need to get on a wifi network that isn't protected when i can just use the plan that comes with my phone service. AT&T has been no problem for me as far as coverage but, then again, i'm not exactly in the country.

however. do you live near a retail apple store with a genius bar? i wouldn't want an iphone without being near a store that i could go into and have them give me a new phone immediately if something went wrong. i'm not sure an AT&T store will do that but i know apple will.

I heard that they were putting an Apple store somewhere in Baton Rouge, so there ya go. Don't know when, but I imagine pretty soon, as they were advertising a job opening for a genius.

yeah i already have at&t. do you have to buy a bigger/better plan to go with the iphone though? i'm interested in the camera working in weird lighting... like would it work in a fairly dark club/bar, do you think?

apparently we are getting an apple store so that is good! i probably won't get the phone till christmas anyway... that way i won't have to pay for it :p

i haven't tried to take pictures in a bar/club but i have taken pictures at night on the street and they are pretty decent. doesn't replace my camera though.

the phone plan with at&t has the data part included. http://www.apple.com/iphone/easysetup/rateplans.html

i have the $79.99 plan and i pay about $86 a month with taxes.

I reallyreally like mine. However it does a take of bit of getting used to because of the lack of buttons. The camera is pretty damn good and the phone's features are pretty damn awesome.

The iPhone can access Wi-Fi, but if there are no networks around, you access the internet via their old-timey EDGE network (which is kinda slow).

With the iPhone (as with all apple products), you're paying a huge premium for the name. The AT&T rate plans are also higher (like $25+ monthly) than what you'll find for a smartphone from another carrier. The batteries are not replaceable by users, so if you're gonna get one, I'd wait until the apple store opens at the Boulevard unless you're okay with shipping off your iphone when you need a new battery/have any technical problems.

There is also the recent announcement that credit cards are the only method of purchasing an iPhone; they won't take cash or Apple gift cards.

funny you should ask. There's been some speculation that AT&T is handicapping the capability of their other smartphones in order to steer people towards the iPhone.

The Tilt looks like the best of what they offer. It has a 3mp camera, and includes a Micro SD slot, for up to 32Gb of memory. The iPhone has no storage upgrade capability, you're stuck with what it comes with. The Moto Q and Treo 750 also look pretty good.

I don't know how the service fees compare, for some reason the AT&T website wouldn't show me those costs.
