If it was anyone but that particular batch of people, I'd definitely say comfy. As is it, you might as well be comfy and nervous, instead of uncomfortable and nervous.
I presume your committee members have been seeing you in T-shirt-and-jeans or equivalent every day.
I think as long as you're making an attempt to look like you're taking this more seriously than "everyday", you should be fine. I don't know that I've seen anybody defend in a suit. But I don't know that I've seen anybody defend in blue jeans either.
My vote is with your idea of comfy here--it's probably just enough above everyday to convey that you prepared and thought about it and consider it important enough to bother, without disrupting your concentration during your defense.
