Your dad has a beard! I almost didn't recognize him. And even you were sporting some facial hair. Is that a requirement when you go hiking through the woods.

Well, you don't carry anything you don't need, and you don't "need" to shave. I think Dad first grew his out when he went on a hike, and he's just kept it around. I shaved about 30 minutes after I got home though :)

I just abuse Google's tech savvy to seem smart ;) Picasa is really easy to use.

And, I'm supremely jealous. I'd love to hike Southern portions of the AT; I've hiked a couple of sections here in the New Hampshire area. Wickedly hard, but so much fun.

I've heard that the northern parts are quite a bit harder by design. I'd love to go to the Northern end in Maine just to be able to say I've been the the beginning and the end. And then the 2000 miles in between? Maybe later...
