♔ APPLICATIONS ♔

APPLICATIONS
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, not in cycles. Applications are OPEN.
If we're taking awhile to get to your app, please don't worry! The mods are currently a little busy IRL and we're working on catching up with everything. 3/11/10

If you have your character on reserve, your subject line should read "[RESERVE] CHARACTER NAME | SERIES". If you do not have your character on reserve, your subject line should read "CHARACTER NAME | SERIES".

Comments with sections of applications should be in threads; do not reply to this post with the next section of your application. Reply instead to the last comment with the previous section. If this is unclear, please contact a moderator and we will assist you. This is for the sake of neatness and mod sanity; if everything is willy-nilly we're liable to get very confused.

Applications will not be screened. Mods cannot be familiar with every series or fandom or book or film, so we may enlist help from others who are familiar with the character you are applying for. We may also contact you regarding any discrepancies in your application, or anything we are personally unclear on. If there are any revisions needed, we ask that you reply to the last comment of your application and place in the subject line "REVISIONS: CHARACTER NAME | SERIES".

APPLICATION
ooc information
Name: Your handle; what you'd prefer the mods and other players to address you by.
Personal journal: Your personal LiveJournal username; if you don't have one, please state that you don't (don't delete this section) and provide the easiest way to contact you outside of LiveJournal.
Contact information: Instant messenger clients, email addresses, etc. Please list these in order of accessibility; the quickest and your preferred mode of contact first.

ic information
Series: The series your character is from. If your character has multiple canons (anime, manga, video game franchise, etc.) please state which of these you are taking your character from. Characters cannot be taken from more than one canon version unless these versions coincide.
Character's name and aliases: This should be the character's given name first, family name second, followed by any aliases the character may be known by.
Character's age: If your character doesn't have a canonically set age, just give a range you'll be playing them in: ranges should be under fourteen, fifteen to seventeen and eighteen and over.
Character's race/species: i.e., human, android, extraterrestrial. If your character's race or species requires explaining, that goes here.
Timeline: Where you'll be playing your character from. If it's a particular arc or episode number in an anime, please state so; arc or chapter number in a manga, please state so; chapter in a book, etc. If you have trouble giving a numerical basis for your character, that's fine; whether you can include this or not, be sure to give a little background information regarding the timeline (e.g., before your character has an important meeting with so-and-so; after someone important to them dies, and so on).
Appearance: What your character looks like, and what they'll look like to other characters. This is important, so please don't skimp on details. If you want to link to an image of your character as well, feel free; but writing a description of your character's appearance is necessary. If they look different at different times (e.g., "released" states, or the like) detail those as well, even if you don't think they'll be in these states during gameplay (for those characters whose "released" or different states are revealed after your point in their application, please refer to the FAQ for canon updating information).

History: A minimum limit of two paragraphs is set on character history. Be detailed and don't worry about spoilers; we want as much information on your character's history as possible. There is no maximum limit on this section.

Personality: A minimum limit of three paragraphs on personality. There is no maximum limit on this section, either; we want to see that you have a good, solid grasp of your character's personality. If you can give examples of your character's reactions to situations they have not been part of in their canon, we ask that you do so, but this is not required, only suggested.

Additional notes: Any additional notes that couldn't be placed in the above sections go here. If your character has any particular powers, or quirks, or what have you, go ahead and talk about them here.

First-person sample: There is no limit on this sample; just a simple, first-person sample of your character as they might write in a journal, or one-way communication with another character.

Third-person sample: There is a minimum limit of two paragraphs on this section. This should be in third-person log style. You can write in present or past tense, and the setting can be whatever you choose. This does not have to be a sample specific to reduceres and you may use a sample from a previous application, or a third-person prose log from a previous game, so long as this reflects your current writing style and characterization.
