Burlesque in NYC has been exciting for awhile now. I've got friends in the scene (one of my best friends was a Murrayette for years) and have seen so many shows and the things that pop out to me are how bright and in-on-the-joke and creative they are. And how much they love to work their very feminine (read--not stick figure) bodies into into costumes and routines that are nothing short of celebratory statements.

Thanks for posting that article. I'm gonna put it up on myspace for them if they haven't already seen it.
