Super Grover Is Suddenly Vastly Out Of His League

Disney purchases Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion in cash and stock.

FTA: It said the boards of Disney and Marvel have both approved the transaction, but it requires an antitrust review and the approval of Marvel shareholders.

This should be good.

wtf, comics

My sentiments exactly.

We'll see how it does against the antitrust review and the Marvel shareholders - the latter might be sniffy about using their brand value to uphold an increasingly decrepit Mouse.

Oh god. The Disneyfication of all things Marvel-ous begins. I can see it now:

The Batman Power Hour, starring the Caped Crusader and the Forest Creatures!! With extra KAPOW! THUMPER! and BAMBI! It's part of this fun-filled Saturday morning, kiddies!

Frank Miller and all those who created the Dark Knight will enter into a giant mutual suicide pact just so they can spin in their graves over this.
On the upside, if we attach their corpses to axles we should be able to power a medium-sized city.

Of course, it immediately occurred to me after hitting "post comment" that the Dark Knight is a DC property, not Marvel. Meh. The same thing applies, just substitute a different character.

Must remember not to talk to the Internets without morning caffeine.

Miller's run on Daredevil is similarly lauded, and your play stands as called. ;)
