I never really considered Tek "pink hat" material. Then again, seeing a pink Dice-K shirt REALLY threw me for a loop.

Oh, Varitek is clear Pink Hat material, up there with Ortiz. A lot of people lean to him because of his Captain status and his "intangibles." Varitek is probably the closest analog to Jeter the Sox have in terms of overhype versus actual value to the team.
