Red Sox In Lead For Santana?

That's what Twins writer, Charlie Walters is saying. Until now, I haven't let myself get excited about the possibility of Santana. Walters had the inside scoop on the Delmon Young/Matt Garza deal previously.

According to Walters, the Red Sox would give up Coco Crisp, Jon Lester, Jed Lowrie, and Justin Masterson. Now I have to apologize to another member of the community who proposed a deal similar to this because I didn't think there was any way that it would be enough. I'm still a little skeptical.

According to Walters however, the Yankees simply don't have the major league ready prospects that the Red Sox have and are willing to give up. The Twins need position players and the Red Sox have two major league ready ones to give up, along with a projected front of the rotation starter.
