I'll hold off on the celebration until it's certain, but this is still good news. :)

I love Myglowl as much as all of you. I just hope that the kind of contract he gets doesn't compromise the business of the team with sentimentality. It may end up being a blessing in disguise, but if he gets a four-year deal or more, I will be uneasy.

Then again, the Bros. Levinson are some of the more reasonable agents out there. Perhaps a lucrative 4th year based on performance incentives? I could get behind that. Something a la Schilling's bonus if he gets a single CY vote.

Oh, I agree. I'd be a terrible manager; I know my own tendencies toward sentimentality. I doubt they'd give him four years, though. Three solid years with (possibly) incentives after that, as you mention, seems doable. But giving him four years does seem to be pushing it (as much as I don't want to admit it), and I rather that he'd get that kind of offer.

To be completely honest, I would let Lowell go if he wants more than 3/30. He'll want a contract that reflects this year, and I think that's unreasonable.

This is good news. Of course it's too early to break out the Lowell jersey in celebration but I'll keep it out while I wait.
