From my understand I thought with him leaving as a free agent the team would get a compensation pick anyway.

IT sounds like you are correct about how the picks work. At least it sounds like you are anyway. I guess at some point I just ignored the whole arbitration part and kept on believing free agents equaled sandwich picks since that day.

I totally bumped into Manny on Newbury Street today. Literally. It was weird.

Not really. I wasn't looking where I was going and I almost walked straight into him. I sort of swerved quick and I was like "OMG I'M SO SORRY!" and he just smiled and kept walking. I didn't realize who it was until I did a double take, though, and he was already walking away lol.
