Let's see if we can take this momentum into the next series. Get to 10 1/2, maybe 11 up. Too much to ask for?

If we're 11 up in September, I want to see Bowden make starts for us. I want to see Hansen back in the bigs. I want to see Jed Lowrie and Jacoby Ellsbury starting together.

Maybe I'm a pessimist and/or chronic worrier, but I won't be ready to see that until our magic number is zero.

I'm almost positive we will see Hansen this year. Post All-Star break, he's had an ERA of 1.65, only 5 walks and 22 strikeouts in 16.1 innings of work. He might just pan out yet.

I'd love to see Lowrie as well. He's not really talked about much but he's been solid this year. At 23, he's hit .298/.397/.512 between Double-A and Triple-A this year. Epstein recently said he thinks Lowrie could be the most underrated player in the Red Sox farm system.

Bowden's struggled a bit though, I'm not sure he should come up right now. He has a 4.27 ERA at Double-A. Not bad but I don't think it's good enough to warrant a call up.

46 runs over 4 games, if that's not momentum I don't know what is

I'm not sure it's momentum, but I do know what a terrible pitching staff is.

Although it was nice to beat up Buerle and Vazquez, legit pitchers.

Vazquez - 3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, .237 BAA coming into today's game
Buehrle - 3.50 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .265 BAA even after his start against the Red Sox

I'd say they're some of the most legit starters in the league.

Now that we're sayong goodbye for the season, I do feel a little bad for Buerhle and Vazquez. That team fell apart so quickly...

It might need to be a double sized broom for a sweep that lopsided

Seriously, this series was worth about 5 or 6 pythagorean wins.
