A random round-up to celebrate the fact that I had this week off work, and to commiserate the fact that it's over much too soon.

Weirdest Thing I've Seen On A Menu This Week (That I Didn't Eat)Fennel pannacotta. This was a dessert, in case it's not obvious. Fennel pannacotta? Whatever next, celery blancmange? If I didn't hate fennel, I might have ( Read more... )

Lucky you! And you know, I do love Captain Jack very, very much, but he isn't my ideal bloke, looks-wise, so I could easily see happening upon a cuter one in the same day. (Of course, if you'd seen Eccleston, and then gone on, I'd be shocked and appalled).

I watched Little Britain for the first time the other day, actually, so I know who David Walliams is now. It was on a free BBC Canada preview. We rather liked it and rather didn't, depending upon the skit, and such. I was glad to have seen it, but I don't think I can really get behind it, or anything.

No, he's not my ideal bloke looks-wise either (which is just as well, seeing as he swings on only one direction in real life, and it's away from me!), but he's so likeable that it doesn't matter... and that somehow makes him start seeming cute again. Heh.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of Little Britain, although it does have the odd funny moment - they have far fewer ideas than they have minutes to fill, so it all gets very repetitive after a bit. Mind you, I did spot Matt Lucas (the other one) in a cafe a couple of years ago, so now I've got the full set. *ticks off page in Celebrity I-Spy Book*

Oh, I forgot to say in my LJ that I had breakfast in the Caffé Nero, wearing jeans and t-shirt (as usual) and using my new iPod and laptop. Sorry I did not see you dear cyber wife, you must have been sitting on my side, not straight in front of me :-)

Don't say it was not me you saw, don't make your cyber husband sad or envious! :-D

I have just read the menu for The Providores. Now I am a) hungry, and b) eager to go myself.

Go, go. Highly recommended. Although it IS a) full of slightly pretentious people, so take a sense of humour, and b) difficult to know what size of portion you are going to get, and therefore how much food to order (grazing menu, schmazing menu...).
