The Musketeers 2.07: In a time of inconvenience

Mar 01, 2015 02:03

This week I’m coming to you live from the ancestral homelands of the north-east, although you probably can’t tell from this angle. In practical terms, this means that I can’t make silly graphics today and thus am reliant on silly graphics I made from this week’s teaser clip. Fortunately, however, I can still have silly thoughts, so here are some ( Read more... )

You never disappoint with your reviews!

Is wondering whether after his success with 'Your visions come from soup not God' the delightful Mr B got carried away and ad-libbed the 'Bring me the preparatory sketches' !

Sadly I don't think that line was improvised, since the props people must have already got the sketches ready for the next scene. The conviction with which the line was delivered was all Mr Burke, though. ;-)

I'm pretty sure carrots are the official vegetable of The Musketeers, just like tomatoes were the official anachronistic vegetable of Merlin...

We decided we were very disappointed that Not!Louise didn't just get told to keep up the ruse and marry the King of Sweden anyway, since it's not like anyone important would've known that she was in the jail for all of four hours. Richelieu would've totally kept up the ruse, since France would get all the benefits of the alliance *and* a spare assassin on call.

Yeah, seriously, when is one of Louis' boyfriends going to show up? And Mazarin, we want Mazarin. We're hoping he gets to be the next archbishop and the last ep is him sweeping in to knock Rochefort aside and take his rightful place as Cardinal and control of the Red Guard. All in favour of a competent First Minister, hold up a burning scroll of self-insert Rochefort/Anne fanfic...

he!he! brilliant summary as usual Thank you! But who was behind the ambush of Not!Louise at the beginning ??? RODs posed the question but didn't answer it :(( Would like to think Mr B ad libbed "he has barely changed " but I have to admit I am now attributing every remotely funny comment to him now ;))

I assumed that the ambush was all part of the assassins/Rochefort plot to make it look as if someone was out to get Louise, so they would assume that she was the target of the bolt that killed the Archbishop? So his death would look less suspicious?

But really, the more one analyses the plot in any Musketeers episode, the less sense it makes ;)
