Gentle viewers, welcome to your penultimate dose of Merlinery. Complimentary Kleenex is provided, stress balls can be located under your seat, and the cabin crew will shortly be making their rounds with a trolley full of strong liquor and anachronistic vegetables.
So without further ado, here are my thoughts on (

That's not an impossible ask. Obviously, it's far from certain, but it could well happen...
he was not comfortable with Morgana killing the Druid
She didn't kill him, though - she just took away his magic. He gets to go home in disgrace but he does (presumably) get to go home.

I kind of let out a little cheer when old Merlin burst forth from the cave but I really just want Merlin to go into battle as himself and save the day. Also, if it's my last Merlin episode, than I want as much time with Colin's face on screen as possible, and not as a wrinkly old man ;)
I think someone will die. BBC are good at killing people off in their finales. I fear I may be in tears on Christmas eve! :(

Delightful review, as always (um, a hint of immortality?).
This ep gave me hope - if you forget Dragoon at the end. Your Santa imagery might make it more bearable when I re-watch it tonight. At last something better (but why do they deal with Merlin and his magic and Emrys and everything in the last two episodes while we could have had a whole season actually about Merlin - the title character, writers: ti-tle - ?
Looking forward to your ponderings. Here's to hoping we won't sink in a Blackish Melancholy Pond of Angst-without-Resolution!

I'm going to miss these reviews so much, with all your amazing observations and humour - it's by far the saddest thing about the show coming to an end!
I have an optimistic idea of what may happen in the final episode and I really hope I'm right...
