Jeepers keepers

And now a cult TV catch-up bulletin. Yes, I did see the clip of the Doctor Who Christmas special, and my reaction can best be summed up as "Was that it?". Much more entertaining was the Merlin mini-special: straight-faced silliness and a sprinkling of shameless slashiness squeezed into a minute and a half. Who could ask for more? (And if you wish ( Read more... )

I read the first part of the second point as "despite her angsty earrings". which sent my imagination into a tizzy until I re-read it and saw my mistake.

And the Merlin special was fun.

Angsty earrings are probably the only source of emotional conflict that Heroes hasn't yet mined. They've already done angsty socks, believe it or not.

Btw, encore re Merlin, it took a youtube commenter to make me realize that at the very end, you can see the guard standing behind Uther holding a gun. Hee.

Tony Head is indeed a trooper, and the guard with the Uzi deserves some sort of award for keeping a straight face.

My theory about the Haitian is that he signed up for Facebook recently under his real identity, then tried to friend some of the other characters but they were all going "Who's this guy? Do you know a René?" So then he had to explain properly, and now everyone just knows.

I'm glad that you've been taking the time to appreciate Spike's personal take on the English language. It's true that the peppering of his dialogue with random British slang is half the fun. Drusilla's accent is much more wobbly than his ("Spoike!"), but at least she's not required to say "ponce" and "wanker" on a semi-regular basis.

Oh the Merlin thing was hilarious! XD I wonder how many takes it took them to do it completely straight faced? And they do know their audience because from the comments on Youtube I wasn't the only one who was expecting Merlin to kiss Arthur. :D

Oh, I'm sure the pandering to the Merlin/Arthur fans is absolutely deliberate and shameless. And the positioning of Merlin's rear in relation to Arthur's face suggested a little more than a goodnight kiss, quite frankly...

As did the tone of Merlin's voice. They do know exactly what we like, the bastards. ;)

Lol, I could not believe the positioning! I cackled out loud at the slashiness. And I thought 'redscharlach will be enjoying this!'
