Well, I had no chance of getting this right. I tried to do a double bluff and go for the ones that sounded so outrageous that they couldn't possibly be right. Still only got about two... ;)

The trick is to make the fake ones sound slightly less strange than the real ones, so people will hopefully think that the real ones are too outrageous to be true. It's a subtle art but I think I am improving at it. ;-)

Err, yes. That's what I meant, actually - BRANE was not wurking when I wrote this. Still, realizing that that was what you were doing didn't help. You are obviously TOO SUTTLE for me. ;)

I was utterly convinced by the Violent Cape Mackerel.

The art of zoological insult was of course mastered by Captain Haddock: "You cushion-footed quadrupeds!"

My favourite animal name to use as as insult is actually in French: tétard de crapaud! It means "toad tadpole", which is not terribly offensive, but it's just SO satisfying to say.
