What the megalomaniac-about-town is wearing this season

I finally got around to watching the new trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and was entertained to spot what is clearly the cutting-edge menswear trend for anyone planning world domination. Throw in this week's Doctor Who villain and it seems to be a full-on fashion craze.

As hard as I laughed at Voldie's trendy a la page ensemble the first time, I admit a second snorfle at this comparison to human!Sek.

And here I was convinced that Tom Riddle was trying so hard to shun his Muggle side, and then he goes and raids Jermyn Street. Not on, Dark Lord; NOT ON!

You'd really think, with their complexions, they'd be wearing brighter fabrics to distract the eye.

Tsk.

It is difficult to know what would successfully detract from those less-than-fresh-faced looks. Apart from a paper bag on the head, perhaps.

Weirdly, Sylar from Heroes was wearing something similar in the episode that just aired in the US. Clothing-as-meme?

Clothing-as-meme?

Sale rack at Villainy-R-US? Lack of imagination in costume department? No time to do a separate whites wash? It's hard to say...
