Loss of a loved one, furry or human, is always a big deal and no one can convince me otherwise.

I understand completely what you mean by pets being a big deal. I had to put down my 17 year old cat last August and it still hurts - I don't think it ever won't. I have another cat that I've had for about 8 years as well and she's been a little bit of a comfort but it's still hard. Cats - pets in general - are a part of family, especially when you've had them for so long. So take as much time as you need. I'm so sorry for your loss. *hug*
