here Character Information
General
Canon Source: Homestuck
Canon Format: Web Comic
Character's Name: Marquise Spinneret Mindfang
Character's Age: Never specified, but it’s assumed that the higher on the caste level trolls are, the longer they live. Mindfang is an azure blood and higher up on the
hemospectrum, meaning she’d most likely be hundreds of sweeps/years.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. N/A
What form will your character's NV take?
Mindfang’s journal.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Mind Manipul8tion
Mindfang has the power to control others’ action, manipulating their will to do as she pleases. In canon, she has used this ability twice -- once to bend the will of one of her slave’s to please her and the second time to trick an entire court of people into hanging her captor instead of her.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A
Weapons:
Fluorite Octet
An enchanted set of eight eight-sided, Mindfang’s dice (which later goes on to become in the possession of her descendant, Vriska Serket) are made of a blue variation of fluorite. There are 16,777,208 possible ways for the dice to land and an attack for each one. Some of the possible rolls are summons (musclebeast, weasels, or the ability to summon Charles Dutton), whereas the others are attacks themselves, i.e. Blizzard or Guillotine.
It’s assumed that the higher the roll, the better the attack. All eights are shown to be impossibly lucky, whereas all ones would probably be either a silly attack or something that would backfire horribly (impossibly unlucky either way).
Dragon Cane
The Dragon Cane is a spoil that Mindfang awarded herself after instigating the murder of its original owner, Neophyte Redglare. The cane conceals two blades.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:
Marquise Spinneret Mindfang is one of the twelve troll's ancestors. Specifically, she is the ancestor of Vriska Serket. With her title of Marquise, Mindfang headed a notorious band of pirates (referred to as Gamblignants in troll culture). Despite this, those above her on the hemospectrum who were responsible for bringing about 'justice' showed little interest in capturing her.
In her journal, Mindfang often describes her romantic conquests. However, on Alternia, the trolls home planet, their idea of romance does not revolve around love. Instead, it is divided into four segments, two based on pity and two based on hatred. In the first entry of hers that is shown, she details her black romance (one inspired by hatred and rivalry) with a royal blooded seadweller, Orphaner Dualscar. Despite the rules of troll romance (the romantic quadrants are separate and it is expected that each troll fill them with different trolls, resulting in four different trolls), Dualscar grew exceptionally jealous of the Gamblignant's red lovers.
The last straw was when Mindfang stole one of his slaves, later revealed to be the Dolorosa (an ancestor of another troll, Kanaya), and used her powers of manipulation to more or less force the slave into a red quadrant (and into things of a sexual nature) in front of Dualscar. It was only a few days later that Dualscar had the Dolorosa murdered. In a fit of hopeful retaliation, he reported Mindfang's location to the Grand Highblood (and was subsequently most likely murdered for doing so, as the Grand Highblood has a penchant penchant for murder).
With her location reported, the highbloods sent out a newbie legislacerator to bring her to justice, implying that they didn't truly care if Mindfang was captured. However, they all (including Mindfang) underestimated the abilities of Neophyte Redglare. Due to Mindfang's tactical error, Redglare is able to capture her with the help of her dragon, Pyralspite. In this battle, Pyralspite and Redglare successfully injure Mindfang, and the pirate loses her seven eyes (thus rendering her Vision Eightfold useless) and an arm. However, Redglare makes a fatal mistake by making Mindfang's trial a public spectacle and allowing the lowbloods to gather and watch. Even with her Vision Eightfold gone, she still has her powers of Manipul8tion and manages to manipulate the crowd to turn the trial in her favor. The crowd then turns on Redglare, using the noose she had intended for Mindfang to hang the Neophyte instead. Mindfang then laments her decision to kill Redglare, writing how their rivalry could have turned into a beautiful black romance as well as discussing her new obsession for Pyralspite.
After Redglare's death, Mindfang deals with the head of court, His Honorable Tyranny and kills him to escape. After this, she visits the the Expatri8 in order to seek out a return for a debt (though what the debt is for is not stated). She views having him craft her a new arm from metal as a favor to him to stop him from bemoaning his fate as an exile due to his sparing the life of the Disciple.
Mindfang writes about her omniscient oracle, a cueball belonging to Doc Scratch, that she can peer into with her Vision Eightfold. Doing so reveals the future, depending on what question is asked. In her last entry, she explains that she asked who would kill her and reveals that her end will come at the hands of her future red lover, the Summoner, during his great rebellion. She instantly regrets her discovery.
As her last act, she leaves the oracle with the Expatriate due to the void that naturally surrounds him and leaves the rest of her items scattered around with specific directions in her journal for her descendant to find.
Point in Canon: After her last journal entry.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: N/A
Character Personality:
Mindfang is a woman that loves control and has always had the means of getting it. Between her Manipul8tion and own ability to artfully twist situations into getting what she want, she is both proud and confident (at times to a fault). She is boastful of her conquests, largely about the show and tell. She loves a good story, detailed in the flowery way she describes her own escapades.
Having a large ego, the Marquise is incredibly verbose and enjoys the sound of her own voice. She has little problem continuing a conversation even if the other party has stopped saying anything. She enjoys spurring disdain in those she is close to, fascinated by the idea of fueling hatred.
Intoxicated by games of chance, she is much like her descendant in the way she relies on her unbelievably good luck to get her by. As a Gamblignant, she thrives on the spoils of her raids as well as the satisfaction she receives from romantic conquests. She's a thief, be it of treasure or hearts. Mindfang doesn't shy away from showing her success in either.
Mindfang is, at heart, a romantic. Woven in all the stories about her adventures as a pirate, she focuses heavily on her romantic affairs, expressing in detailed accounts of her past lovers (or those she had wished had become lovers, such in the case of the Dolorosa and the Neophyte). She seems particularly fixated on black romance, referring to her red romances as 'red rom games', implying that she doesn't value those as dearly as she did her kismesis (her fated rival, or current pursuit in the blackest romantic quadrant) or potential kismesis. Regardless, she seems invested in her relationships and expresses her heartbreak in her journal when they come to an end.
She takes advantage of owning the Oracle, peering into it often to predict the future, as it is simply one more way to prove that she is as lucky as she says she is. It isn't until she peers into it one last time and discovers who will bring about her death that she regrets using it at all. She explains that knowing the future, in the end, only made her blind.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: 1. Have Mindfang meet and deal with her descendant. 2. Mindfang will, over time, adjust to the city and even grow to enjoy how corrupt it is. Crime is her thing, so she'll be happy to be involved in that. She'll most likely lean towards AGI, given that in canon, she was involved in slave trade (or well, stealing slaves). Regardless, her true loyalty will remain to herself.

Now that I'm free from my 8rief, unfortun8 captivity, I can properly grow accustomed to this strange place. What explan8tion I've 8een given only frustr8tes me, and I expect more thorough details immediately from whoever can provide them.
The prominent species here is like nothing I have seen 8efore. Humans. Even the word sounds preposterous, and yet, they managed to detain me 8ecause I would not accept their help without putting up a fight. I cannot 8e 8lamed for my distrust in such odd creatures.
8ut I digress. It appears my journal now has a new a8ility to contact others, and while this is disconcerting as I would rather keep my priv8 thoughts priv8, I will use this to my advantage and demand to know whoever or whatever is 8ehind this. I can only hope that you, whoever you might 8e, will 8e more helpful than that who originally greeted me.
Third Person Sample
As her pen finished the final word, Mindfang set it down and closed her journal. She had expected to go on about her usual business, but it seemed like fate had other plans. The pull that dragged her through a dark void was indescribable, even for the Marquise who had words for everything.
She hit the ground hard, instantly accosted by nausea and a splitting headache. She felt like everything was spinning, a sensation that only got worse as she sat up and tried to take everything in. The dirt and grass expanse around her appeared to be diamond shaped, with some sort of seating arrangement surrounding it. That, however, wasn't the strangest thing the Marquise noticed.
The sun bearing down on her felt unnatural, and she pondered if that was what was making her feel so terrible. Trolls were unaccustomed to the sunlight, preferring the darkness. The shades of night were infinitely more comfortable to their kind, her being no exception.
When she made it to her feet, she shielded her eyes, a grimace gracing her lips. This was decidedly not home. Everything felt alien to her as she explored the area, searching for any clues about her new location. What she found didn't help her. Even the signs in the area proved useless, giving her words she didn't understand. Newbs? Whatever that meant, it sounded pathetic. She was not amused.
She became even less amused when she was greeted by a strange species -- pale, pink, and hornless.
"What do you want?" She practically spat the words, venom in her voice as if this was all this new creature's fault. How couldn't it be? They were the first that she had come across and just one more strange thing about this place. Her ego kept her from asking for help, and the argument that followed only led her to be unfortunate enough to be briefly detained.
Wherever she was, she already despised it. This was all unacceptable.
