Travel

I realized something about traveling today. I've used to it, and I've done it a lot. It makes it less exciting, but the ambivalence comes with comfort and confidence to coast through. But travel can still be stressful for me. In fact, it's remarkably easy for a trip to be annoying all day. Because I have so much idle time (I always prefer to ( Read more... )

Despite traveling a fair bit and working in the travel industry I find travel stressful too. I think for me one of the main reasons is that most people seem to be grumpy, stressed, or otherwise unpleasant when traveling. Their attitudes take a tool on the employees and it just turns into a tense, grumpy, stressful environment.

That said, I've definitely been part of the problem before. Whether I was running late or had too little sleep I've certainly snapped at airline employees who were giving me the run around (quite literally in one case as they had me bounce back and forth between 3 check in counters).

yeah ever since i got used to flying (not that i do it as much as y'all but a few times a year) it's just gotten way more annoying and now i avoid it if possible. i like flying a lot but all the BS with ticketing and security and delays just took any enjoyment i ever had right out.

i also get wicked airport stress if i even think i'm running a little late :/

I bet you forgot all about it once you got laid.

I look forward to taking the train instead of flying in the future... I know a lot of people think that's still impossible, but I think it will be real over at least regional areas. As of the last month or so, it's cheaper to take the train to LA than it is to fly. I've been waiting years for flying to not be the cheapest thing.

I forgot all about it pretty much as soon as I vented it to the internet. Getting laid was just icing.
