Dead Rising Shenanigans
So I beat Dead Rising last night. Now I'm going back through the game without worrying about doing the storyline or saving survivors, and just unlocking achievements. There are some really tough ones out there.
My targets for this playthrough:
Karate Champ - Defeat at least 1,000 zombies barehanded.
This is probably going to be the easiest and most fun.
Zombie Genocider - Kill at least 53,594 zombies.
This one will be tedious but doable, as long as I don't get distracted by survivors and scoops.
Strike! - Send at least 10 zombies flying with bowling balls.
I tried it this morning. It's a lot harder than it sounds, because even though the ball will roll until it hits something, it won't hit zombies past a certain distance. I have a plan though.
Raining Zombies - Knock at least 30 zombies aside with a parasol.
Haven't tried it, but I imagine it will be difficult for the similar reasons to the above.
Gourmet - Eat all types of food available in the mall.
Again, this one is just going to be tedious.
Indoorsman - Spend at least 24 hours indoors.
Depending on how long it takes me to finish Genocider, I can just chill out in a safe area for the rest of the time.
Outdoorsman - Spend at least 24 hours outdoors.
Not sure if it will count while I'm in a car, but if it does, then this will be achieved by virtue of getting Genocider.
Sharp Dresser - Change into at least 20 different costumes.
Clothes Horse - Change into all costumes available in the mall.
Not unlike Gourmet, these two will be easy as long as I keep my eyes open and don't get distracted.
PP Collector - Photograph all PP stickers.
Targets for the next playthrough, when I won't get distracted from the storyline...
Tour Guide - Escort 8 survivors at once.
I'm kinda pissed that I didn't get this one on the last try. I had 7 survivors and one of the main characters hitching a ride on my back. Even if she'd have counted, though, I apparently lost one of the survivors at the last minute.
Frank the Pimp - Simultaneously escort 8 female survivors.
Okay, this one seems incredibly frustrating, but I will say that of the 7 aforementioned survivors, 5 were female.
Full Set - Collect all portraits in the NOTEBOOK.
Saint - Get at least 50 survivors out of the mall.
Guess how many survivors there are total. :-/
Perfect Gunner - Don't miss with a machine gun.
I tried this one several times on the last play through. A machine gun has 150 bullets in it. I'm almost positive I hit with 149 of them once. >:(
Census Taker - Photograph at least 50 survivors
You can take pictures of them after you save them, so this is basically tantamount to the Saint achievement with the caviat that you can't forget to take their pictures.
Psycho Photo - Photograph at least 4 psychopaths.
Psycho Collector - Photograph at least 10 psychopaths.
Transmissionary - Answer all calls from Otis.
This one pisses me off. I guess it doesn't count if you get cut off by a zombie attacking you, because I swear I answered this prick every time he called.
Zombie Road - Walk over 33 feet (10 meters) on the backs of zombies using the Zombie Ride.
Level Max - Reach Lv. 50.
I'm currently already level 45. If I do indeed save all the survivors, I'll be level 50 in no time.
Snuff Shot B - ???
It doesn't say how to do this but I know how. I won't spoil it for you though.
Hella Copter - ???
Again, a "mystery" achievement, but I'd be willing to bet good money I know how to get it.
Item Smasher - Break at least 100 items.
This is a "total" achievement, as opposed to "1 play" so I expect to have broken 100 items overall by the time I get here.
5 Day Survivor - Survive for at least 5 days.
7 Day Survivor - Survive for at least 7 days.
In Infinity mode, you lose health gradually over time and all the "infinite" item points (like the food in the grocery store) are disabled, so you have to scavenge for food elsewhere. I also hear you can't pause, but that might be BS. 1 game minute is 5 real seconds, so 7 days of survival is 14 hours. Presumably you can still save.

Well, it's for my reference as much as for your edification. I don't expect to get all of these goals the first try. Especially Saint and 7 Day Survivor. They'll take practice and a solid plan. After all, as this list stands, it covers all 26 of the achievements I don't yet have.
