I think the effects would be only short term tourism, as for the cards. If they store the 'information' on the cards... they're screwed... if the save them to some central database, and the cards are only meant to confirm your 'reference number' and scan your thumb or eye and reference it to the system.. Then you'll have a hard time cracking the system.

Give them a year before some hacker fakes the card, or reference.
Even if they kept your DNA on file there will always be a way to get around it. espeically if they save your information on the actual card.

Figure they'll work out the bugs and hacks over the next 2 years. THEN the system will WORK. with a 'few minor' irritations.

I think the United States should just dissolve into... States. Also, I want to raise fowl now after reading about it a bit. Just not peacocks. I fucking hate peacocks.

The White Embden goose has good meat & is a super friendly bird apparently. It only lays about 40 eggs though, compared with the Chinese goose which frequently lays 50 - 100. Khaki Campbell & Runners Ducks are apparently also great for both eggs & meat. Mmmmm... and yeah bird flu. Hmm. Heheh. This is a future thing anyways. Maybe. I still want goats & a PONY too!

I'm not sure what the heck RFID stands for but if you mean those chips in the cover that the goverment says can only be read from a few inches away & have given us nifty protective metal meshing in the passport covers so that you don't have to worry about identity theft even tho some people claim to be able to get the info from them up to 60 ft away... then - they already have those in them.
