I remember as a kid, watching my Grandparents. I'm sure they weren't perfect, tho in that way kids have they really were. But I remember just KNOWING they were still in love. Still loved each other with all their hearts.

They were married 56 years before she passed away and I know if God had given him the choice, my granpa would have gone with her with nary a glance back over his shoulder that day. As it was he made it several more years (Which was a surprise to all of us) before he joined her.

To this day I remember their love. They were the epitome of soulmates. (Tho the fact he was engaged to another woman before he met my granma and even had this woman's name tattoed on his arm was a story I didn't get for many, many years!!)

I'm kind of anti-marriage. For a lot of reasons that aren't important. But mostly because no one have ever looked at me the way he looked at her.

Not everyone finds their soulmate.

You obviously did and that's amazing.

And BTW, what IS it when men and blondes?

Men and blondes? Nothing in my case, actually. I'm an equal opportunity leerer. In the case of that particular blonde, however, she shocked me by being very intelligent and witty in addition to being a looker. :)

Sexiest thing about any woman I've ever been interested in was the sharp mind. Never found anything that was more attractive to me. Seriously.

Just saying hi, and letting you know that I'm still reading. Also, I swear on my plushie aye-aye that I have never once thought of you as an oaf.

I know how it feels to be taller than anyone else in the room: I'm almost 5'9", tall for a woman, and I was significantly taller than every guy in my high school class save for one. Seriously. Obviously, I didn't get asked to dance much during that phase of my life. Indeed, at 13, I took a ballroom dancing class, and the insecure boys refused to take my hand to execute the dance steps: they would only hold my pinky, in order to avoid contact with the tall girl. Odd, really, for them to fear my tall germs - you'd think they'd want to catch that sort of disease to overcome their Napoleonic complexes. :)

I'm glad to say that things got better once I left my tiny hometown and met people who were, in fact, even taller. A few of them even had the inner stature to match their external grandeur. *winks atcha*

Making it through 2010 as best we can. *smiles softly* I head back to South Carolina to take care of Mom following her sixth chemo treatment on 10/31; we're hoping that one is the second-to-last.

David's still at UPS, but I think he might begin looking for something else come 2011, as he's felt a bit stifled there.

We've still got a roof over our heads and food on the table, and I'm grateful every day for those things, but perhaps most especially for the air conditioning. That broke in September, and we surely did miss it until it was repaired. :D

E-mail me at cityinabottle, or him at dmd1966, any old time you feel like it, and we'll exchange current phone information and such (Gmail).

*hugs*
