attended the 十大华乐世纪金曲 chinese orchestra concert with the family today in a very packed esplanade concert hall. some of the songs could have been performed better ... there were questionable entrances, squeaky strings and some out-of-tune notes by the soloists. i also had a feeling that the orchestra sounded tired and lacking in power. but ttk being ( Read more... )

Hey...i was at the concert too!
but i am not pro..so i can't hear all those lousy things u heard.
but ttk is really good lah...my colleague who's in charge of CO in my school idolises him and said that ttk is a 跳跃的音符 himself :) -mania

eh, too bad didn't bump into you. it was super crowded!
maybe i heard them because i've played those songs before. :) anyway, concur with your colleague's description of ttk. there are some conductors that try to act seh and fail miserably, but ttk is seh without even trying. and it's really a joy to play under his baton cos the beats are clear and you know you're in good hands. form + substance!
