I am so awake right now. A cockroach came into our apartment crawled over me and onto Rowan. I woke up slapping my back repetitively because I swore I felt something on me. I looked at the baby, as I do when I wake up out of a sound sleep, and there it was frantically crawling all over her. Yes, I screamed (out of surprise). Yes, I whacked it off

Cockroaches are the worst. We had a problem with them a few weeks back. Whenever it is hot and rainy, the roaches come up. One of them was crawling on my leg. I friggen flipped and I couldn't find it when I had steeled myself to kill it. I called the exterminator. I still have that knee-jerk slapping reaction to any real or imagined tickle on my skin.
