Whoa, now I'm completely in the dark about Lucas. I had my suspicions, but now I'm thinking something else. Wow. You really have me curious!

Also, just have to say I *love* this line, it's so beautiful: walking on the ground was now like walking on a sea of dry, crackling fire.

Lovely! And omgosh, loving Lucas so much!

Mwhahahahaha! *rubs hands together*

Thank you! I'm a fall lover myself, so I guess that's me Mary Sue-ing a bit there. *shrug*

Yay, I'm glad you love my Lucas!!! I work so hard on getting him just right, so it just makes me all warm and cozy inside that you appreciate him. *happysigh*

Thanks for reading, hon! You know I love writing this stuff!!!

Poor Lucky. He has to put so much effort into even the most elementary human reaction, and he's so conscious of this that it magnifies the problem. He and Lin really need to talk methinks.

They really do! But of course there's that Luthor pride and fear to show any weakness that gets in the way every single time.

Much like me and my own family, actually. :)

Thanks for stopping by and for commenting!

Yeah, I just love piling on the pain, and irony is just so fulfilling sometimes. :)

Thanks for reading!!

Wow! What great commentary on how people communicate. That was just amazing, reading about the layers from Lucas's POV, same with the emotions. I feel for him, having to think so hard about things that come naturally to everyone else.

I loved this line: Lex was normal. He and Bruce were so normal, the two of them could hold several conversations at once. Their cake was one of those tiered ones people ate at wedding receptions. You made me LOL here. This is so perfectly Lex and Bruce. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to sum them both up so succinctly, but you managed it.

Wonderful job as always.

Oh, I like your picture of Lucas. I know I should probably recognize him, but, I don't. *sheepish grin*

Initially, I didn't even really know where I was going with that first section, but then it started coming together. :) I have this burning desire to really write an outsider's POV of Lucas, or of the four boys' interaction and dynamic, just to see how he actually comes across and not just how he *thinks* he does.

But that would be really cheesy. :/

Anyway, thanks for all the compliments (and for reading in the first place!). The photo's just one of Paul Wesley, same actor who played Lucas in SV's "Prodigal" episode. Looks good, doesn't he? I think that's the only one I could find of him in anything even resembling a suit! :)

Oh Lucas ....self hatred rearing it's ugly head? You and Lin really need to talk I think. Though it's not surprising that he feels more alien than Lin, Lin I assume at least had a life (not much, but really much more than Lucas had) outside the facility.

They really do need to talk. . . or at least Lucas needs to talk to *someone.* Repression at its worst in this case.

Exactly! Lin's life sucked, but at least it was a life. All Lucas had were books, and the few interactions here and there with Lin over the years.

Thanks for reading, hon, and for the much-appreciated comment as well!!!
