Here's another extremely short piece. It's set sometime early in the first season, after Hourglass. Brief spoilers for that episode will ensue.

Enjoy!

I had to laugh after I read this because I was thinking, "wow that is cynical" and then I was skimming back up and noticed that you had listed your mood at this time as cynical.

Seems like Lex is enjoying twisting the knife here, subtly comparing Clark to a dictator and at the same time saying, "nyhna, nyhna you may have everyone else fooled but not me."

Man, I completely forgot about this one! XD Yeah *scratches back of neck* This was written during one of my more extreme times of fed-up-with-Smallville's-suckiness-factor. I was angry at Clark (the show's version of him, of course, not mine), pissed at Lex and the Kents. . . but it's a realistic read, in that it fits into canon pretty well. Some mild slashy undertones, like Clark thinking of Lex's eyes as beautifully expressive, but otherwise it could very well work as a coda.

And thanks for reading it!!! I'm curious, are you reading through my old stuff, or did you just stumble across it?

Yeah, I thought I would look around your older stuff. You have two WIPs going that I absolutely love "Lost Souls" and "Teenage Wasteland" and I am dancing around starting CFMWH for a couple of reasons. 1. I would have a lot of catching up to do and while that normally isn't a problem for me, right now I need short, easy to finish things. 2. I read the prologue and Lionel seems to be a main character and he squicks me. I have a problem reading stories where he has a big role. I will eventually read it because I love your writing and I love filial!Clex (although I am not sure it is Clex from what I read, but filial I am sure of), I just need to be in the right place and mood to start it.

Well, that was probably way more informatin than you wanted to know. Anyway, I just thought I would see what you had that was finished and try reading a few.

Well, only the prologue is from his POV. The rest is primarily from Lex's, with a few every part from Julian, Colin (a.k.a. Clark), and Bruce. Lionel is only a central character because of what he's done in the past. . . his actions towards the boys are what sets the story in motion. Anyway, this is my sneaky, persuasive-type way of wheedling you into reading it. *g* Is it working?

But no rush. . . CFMWH will be around for you whenever (if ever) you're ready to embark down its stormy, convoluted, looooooooong-ass path. XD
