I liked the symbolism of him opening all the locks.

Caught that, did you? :) Darn Lit degree rearing its head again. LOL

A little hard for me to picture the damaged Lucas you've created arriving at a point where he can sustain a relationship with Lois.

Ah, but see now that he's been broken down it's time to rebuild! That's why I write these hurt/comfort extravaganzas: just so I can remake the pretty boys I so shamelessly torture into strong, albeit very strange, men! He'll get there. . . eventually. Lois and Co. are a ways down the line at this point. Getting closer, though. :)

Thanks for reading, hon! Glad you liked it!

Ahhhhh Lucas! You made me cry! That just felt like something so enormous, like he opened himself to everything, to the world and the possibility that he could be happy, and knowing that love can make you feel wonderful. Damn that was really incredible!

How does one even go about describing what happiness feels like? Love?

Hope?

Our boy's come a long way. I hope this chapter showed that. Thanks for reading, sugar pie! *wink*

*happy little sigh* Late reading this but what with the new part I had to take the time to read. And I'm SOOO glad I did. This was such a powerful, touching part of Lucas' story. Seeing him opening up to the possibility of love and happiness, to more than just being hidden away inside of himself, to being happy with everyone else being happy too, such a lovely thing! Great job!

Off to the next part!

Oh, don't worry, hon! This isn't a race. :) I'm thrilled to see you whenever!!!

It is very hopeful, isn't it? *makes speculative noises* Well, just gonna have to change that right up. . . LOL No, but Lucas is getting there. He's growing up, and I think also slowly realizing that everyone else is just as lost and unsure as he is most of the time. . . if not quite as, uh, screwed in the head? Is that a good description?

Thanks for reading!!! Hope you like the rest of the story, too!

The tenses involved with Lucas's dreams make my mind spin. I'm glad that he knows he has Lois to look forward to!
