I would like to point out to the masses that the sun is finally shining again in New England. It's 0700 and I can see sky. We're beginning to think we actually live in the Pacific Northwest, otherwise.

I had to do this for my own cat several years ago. I was weeping, I can tell you. But when (after he was diagnosed with kidney failure and after giving him subcutaneous fluids) when I found him at the bottom of the stairs, trying to get up and unable to move the back half of his body, I knew he couldn't last any longer.

All of my roommates and my boyfriend were out of town, so I loaded him up on a pillow, took him to the vet, and he fell deeply asleep, lying on a pillow with three women petting him. There are worse ways to die.

Yeah, whatever that pink stuff is, it's *FAST*. Thankfully.
Definitely the right thing to do, but it still sucks.

I'm just so sorry. We had to put my baby Sasha to sleep in 2005 when she went into heart failure and kidney failure. She hung on for almost 3 months and we syringe fed her, gave her shots of anti puke meds, pain meds. Oliver had died Christmas right before. It is always horrid to lose a beloved pet.
I can tell you, I think they visit sometimes because Chloe points to nothing and says "kitty". I like to think our furry little guardians keep an eye out and are around when we miss them. I don't _know_, but it's a good thought,eh?

Hugs to you and Chris. I wish I could do more to help make it suck less.
Attacking the pink tile sounds like a great use of angst! Git it!

Yeah--
Merlot came home in a pretty box today. Still, it's a box.

In related news, the pink tile is gone now. All of it. And there's hardwood underneath....hmmm...

Still, we need to move in by Sept 30th.

Yeah, something like that.
