As always, Brit, I enjoy finding out what you are up to. Of course, I cannot begin to understand all the computer science niceties, but I am impressed with your hard work and discipline as you seek to make a career of it. If I were still teaching, you can bet I would share entries like this one with my students. I'm proud of you, Brit! Keep it up! - Don

Well, regarding control, the gross misuse of the Internet (e.g., "kiddy porn," etc.) negatively affects its natural evolution as a tool to address the seeking and development of knowledge and, eventually, wisdom for all. Yes, control for control's sake cannot help us to consider what may be lost when that is the prime concern. Police make lousy philosophers, and a police mentality is all too prevalent, especially in this Post-9/11 era in the United States, especially with the current Administration. Philosophy is not their thing! However, draconian measures will not work because humans find ways around control and power. Humans love to be free, as Bush is forever reminding us as he kills thousands to bring them peace and democracy.
