I have a problem with social networking sites. My problem is that whenever I sign up for a new one, I obsessively seek out everyone I've ever met so I can stalk them, and spend hours and hours on the damn site. So far, I am not a fan of Facebook, because it doesn't let you see people's profiles unless they're your friend, which completely takes away the voyeristic aspect of social networking sites

Not true. The default setting is that only people in your networks can see your profile, but you can change it to "friends only" or "everyone."

What I find to be superior about Facebook is the homepage. It details every little change to all of your friends pages that has occurred in the past few days. I makes voyeurism way more efficient.

Oh, another thing that annoys me is that I can't join any UMBC networks because Facebook wants a valid UMBC email address, and UMBC purges the email addresses of grads, which means I can't e-stalk random old college classmates. Boo!

Yeah, that sucks for you. I set my umbc account to forward to my gmail account right before they cut me off, so I could still use it for their validation process.
