COMICS ARE GREAT.

I tried to pick up Matt Fraction's Hawkeye because Hawkeye but the comic store was out. :c So I got the first trade of Journey into Mystery and the next issue of Castle Waiting.

I know I'll absolutely love Matt Fraction (and Scott Snyder) when I finally get to their main arcs (Iron Man and Batman respectively), so I'm sure what he's done with Hawkeye must be pretty damn good as well. Think I saw it on sale not too long ago.

Have you tried online comics? That's how I buy them until the TPB comes out. It means I buy the comics twice but, with comics I'm not sure will stay around, I don't mind paying double. If you ever wanted to, ComiXology is the place to go for the digital verse. They even have some great sales on Marvel and DC titles. Actually, sales everyday with free comics too! I suggest you give it a shot and see what happens. It's painfully addictive.

As an aside: I used to collect comics in-hand, not digitally, for a long time. I only stopped when I decided that TPBs were better (not to mention when you get the HC versions, which are sturdier) and I ran out of room.

I can't stand reading things on my computer screen, unfortunately. I've got a fair amount of comics, and the program to read them, on my computer but I can't read them that way for very long. I normally buy in TPB but I'm too excited for Hawkeye to wait till it comes out in that way. I am so into this, I'm going to go hunt down issues 3 & 4 at different comic shops because Diamond is back-ordered on them.

I have all of Sandman (except the last volume) in the out of print TPB edition, so I'm going to have to hunt down that too. ;~~~~~~~;

Apparently that's half the fun. Honestly, I never understood the hunting -- most likely because I can barely gather the courage to ask the person at the desk for something -- so going through each week of my favorite comics, all on my Google Calendar too, on my iPad every Wednesday is a treat.

Ouch, those Sandman ones. We have a few of the HC ones at the library and they are constantly checked out in some way. That's a series I want to get into. The only big comic volumes I have are the three Absolute Batman sets and a Red Sonja signed collector's hardcover. Still haven't decided what I think of her as a character yet.

ETA: Good luck with that! I hope you find those issues somewhere!

*waves hello*

I'm so glad to hear you fell down a video game related hole rather than the one I was imagining. I may even have been checking over here last week...

*hugs*

*waves back*

I've fallen down a few holes along the way but mostly just video games. The TV/movie marathons were when I was dropping into one of those worse holes of life. Ugh. But, overall, I'm ok. *hugs*

Hey, great minds think alike. Speaking of which, we need a cup of tea going! Well, maybe not now (bedtime for me...when I get tired and stop replying to comments), but soon! I've been really digging the Earl Grey recently and nothing compares to Twinings. Except their loose leaf. Want me to make a pot when I get into work tomorrow morning?

Good to see you again. I've missed you tons and it's good to be back among familiar faces. :) *hugs*

Ooh yes please to a refreshing cup of Earl Grey!! I can try out my new pretty mugs at the same time. *gets them both out*

I must admit that I've been keeping a look out for you and worrying (like I do, since worrying is second nature). *hugs* Thank goodness for TV when life is crap.
