“So you don’t remember anything?” Kris asked.
Adam shook his head. “I just remember you telling me that you loved me and we made out.” He looked up at Kris through his lashes. “So, you really read my journal.”
Kris nodded. “Yeah. Sorry.” He held up his hands. “And it is never going to happen ever again, trust me.” He chuckled slightly. “I have learned my lesson.”
Adam paused for a few moments, then frowned. “I’m sorry I avoided you so much. It’s just-”
“I was married and you didn’t want me to screw everything up.” He smiled. “Because you’re Adam.”
He arched a brow with a grin. “So I’m sadistic?”
Kris burst into laughter. “I hope not! Or else I’m screwed.” He locked away Adam’s little reply of ‘Yes you are’ to use later and continued. “Just that you care about me. If I were in your position, I’d probably do the same. You just wanted to make sure that neither of us would get hurt.”
He bobbed his head slightly. “Okay.” He paused for a moment before grinning. “So you really punched the Gokester?”
Kris snickered and nodded. “Yeah, last night actually. Well.” He rolled his eyes at Adam’s grin. “You know what I mean.”
He nodded. “Yeah.” He sighed and laid back on the bed and there was another ‘keep for those bad days’ pose. Kris would bet anything that he’d discover so many more in his future with Adam.
He didn’t realize he was grinning until Adam whipped out his journal and started writing again, smiling up at Kris the entire time. He rolled his eyes and got up, moving over to Adam’s bed and, after placing the journal gingerly on the nightstand, slipping into Adam’s arms. Somewhere deep inside he found himself thinking that this would be the only moment he wouldn’t mind repeating.
