Origin of the Sodan

May 02, 2011 00:59

This meta was initially inspired by a comment left behind by kedd  on the discussion for Moebius: Teal’c was the founder of the Sodan… Here’s the discussion if you’re interested. Now please note that this is mostly speculation based on a few well placed coincidences.

Before we get started here are a few facts:

Melted brain? Hmm, that doesn't sound like too much fun... on the other hand... Greece was too much fun! Had a great time, thanks!

Awesome post! I like your theory. I can't poke any holes in it right now (I'll come back and let you know if I can).

Thanks very much! Feel free to poke holes at any time. :D I'm always up for a good discussion/debate and always appreciate constructive criticism! :)

Ooooh, interesting. A lot of assumptions, but very plausible.

Heck, I could easily see Jack too afraid of stepping on a butterfly or something in Earth's history and so he drove the time ship away with Teal'c.

It works well.

Butterflies eh? What have butterflies ever done to you? ;) Who knows? That could be very plausible. I figured to make this work, many many assumptions were required. Thanks! :D

I love the theory! I'll cheerfully postulate a child of Jack and Sam growing up to become the pilot of the timeship.

For that matter -- if they actually managed to die of old age, Jack would have gone first. I can imagine Sam and Daniel, at that point, deciding to leave with Teal'c and the seed colonists -- which would give them a leg up on understanding Ancient (Daniel) and reverse engineering the technology (Sam). And, once on a planet other than Earth, they might well find it more relaxing, as it were -- fewer worries about the timeline!

Ooh I love this theory! It's so awesome I wish I would have thought of that! Yeah I can see them mourning Jack's death to the point that living on Earth no longer has any appeal to them, so they head out. Many thanks!

I love the full circleness of this whole thing. :)

And yeah, I think they likely had very few women with them with they escaped, which would surely account for so few survivors.

Thanks for a great meta!

Thanks! I just needed a good way to end it or else I could have gone on and on and on... ;)

Yeah, I'm assuming that reproduction was a secondary objective to actually fleeing and survival of the Sodan at the time of their escape so whoever could leave, left. Thanks! It was fun, I might try and give it another shot. :)
