Bonnie Wright's agent has posted a new publicity photo of her. She really is pretty and I just don't get why some adamantly think she isn't.

Because 1) she's obviously a late bloomer, and 2) people keep comparing her to Emma. And 3) people who have not read the books (and the H/Hr's of course) insist that the on-screen chemistry is between Dan and Emma, not Bonnie and Dan. But since we have hardly seen Dan and Bonnie together... I blame the Steve Kloves for practically eliminating her character from the screen

I completely agree with your excellent points. I also blame Steve Kloves and that's why I'm more than a little worried for HBP.

I wonder if, in part, it's because her looks are very English. I don't think they translate to the American eye as easily as, say, Emma Watson's.

She IS gorgeous, but I feel like they dull her down in the movies, which has always greatly irritated me. By the time she's a fourth year isn't she supposed to be quite the looker? Definitely by her fifth.

Yes, they dull her down quite a bit, which had always bothered me as well. Both arlenerios and I blame Steve Kloves for all but eliminating her character from the screen. I think that's why I enjoyed OOTP so much. I've got all these high hopes for plenty of H/G in HBP but the fact that Steve was involved again worries me greatly.

I agree. I've been trying not to get my hopes too high for HBP because Steve Kloves is involved again and he hasn't put a lot of her character in the movies, but I can't help it. I really hope there's a lot of collaboration with David Yates. Now that we know how the story ends, maybe he'll see that he has no choice but to pay extra attention to the H/G relationship this time around. If he doesn't, I think I'll have to hurt him! LOL!!!
