[Raph had been secretly shopping for Christmas decorations when he comes across the sleeping girl.

Have a strange figure shaking you by the shoulder, Alexis. It's hard to tell he's not human under all those clothes. He looks more like a very short, fat man, especially with the hat and scarf covering most of his face.]

Hey, wake up. You shouldn't be sleepin' out here.

[Alexis wakes with a start -- complete with a gasp -- and scuttles backward, away from the covered fat man. Excuse her; she's just going to be breathing hard over here.]

[Well, there's a reaction he's used to. It's kind of refreshing, actually. Reminds him of home.

He doesn't move a muscle, holding out his hands, palms-up and empty in a gesture of peace.]

Whoa, whoa. It's all right. I ain't gonna hurt you.

Sorry. I'm sorry. [Alexis smiles gamely -- not the best smile, really.] You just startled me.

[ Because of her old job working as a 'security regiment' soldier, Lightning is very in-tune to anything out of the ordinary. A young woman moving so deliberately is no exception to this, and though being cold to strangers is a part of who Lightning is, her training makes just ignoring this sort of thing near impossible. She pauses and watches from a short distance away, then carefully approaches when she sees Alexis finally sit down. ]

Hey...

[She just sat down when she hears the hail. Alexis doesn't recognize the voice but she's too polite to ignore it. She looks up tiredly.]

... Are you alright?

[ Lightning stays a couple of strides back, standing very straight and fighting sudden mild doubts over interfering. If the girl's just tired and probably wants to be left alone.... ]

[Alexis just blinks at Lightning for a moment.]

I'm all right. I just... [She shrugs.] I just got back.

[ It's in the middle of his own trek around the village when Alf spots the figure at the fountain -- huh, that's no place to be sleeping. When he comes closer, however, he realizes with a start who it is and has a hand on her shoulder. He doesn't shake, yet. ]

[She shifts at the touch, but otherwise keeps right on sleeping. She's very tired.]

[ He squeezes her shoulder gently. Tired or not, this is no place to be resting. ] Please, Alexis. You shouldn't be sleeping out here.

[When she wakes, it's with a start and she spends a few moments blinking at Alf before she figures out who she's looking at.] Alf?

[This is Alexis, blinking sleep from her eyes.]
