I didn’t get the lead role in the play.

Not only did I not get the lead role, I didn’t get ANY role!!!

When I saw the listings and tried to talk to the director this morning, she was gone- I’d checked 3 times and she wasn’t there, even though her office was unlocked. The fourth time she was there but walked out while I stood, less than 6 feet away ( Read more... )

Well, this just infuriates the hell out of me. When people want something so badly, work so hard for it, and are nothing less than deserving and then they get jack squat. And you aren't even being treated with respect which just, OMG, really gets under my skin! Where do people get off treating other people this way? I cannot even believe she did that to you!

Something else is obviously going on with this bitch because that is just uncalled for.

Thanks, bb! That really does mean a lot to me. Fortunately my Drama as Lit teacher is really supportive (probably because I'm his only student taking the class cause I love acting and not for an easy A). Today he showed me a website online where I can look up local auditions- I have a few next week! :)

I'll keep you posted on how those go. Thanks for showing interest!

And yeah, I'm not going to lie, I TOTALLY had a bunch of immature daydreams about my Oscar acceptance speech when I thank him and not her, telling people to follow their dreams. XD

That's exatcly it! I love your analogy; it makes me picture my Grandma coming in asking for a record of old Blue Eyes and then storming out in a huff, yelling about "Who is this Lady Gaga-Googoo person, anyways?!"

And yeah, I'm definitely not a crew person. I couldn't stand to have to stand there and basically serve and support the actors playing the parts I had auditioned for. I just don't have that grace.

It's okay, though. I just posted a new entry about auditioning for community theatre, the musical Oliver!, and I think it went well *knocks wood*. Details are in my new post.

Thanks for commenting!

"didn’t see me mixing with everyone else”.

I don't remember you saying that to me.
I understand the chemistry of a cast is important...but at the same time...she kind of just admitted that theatre at BEHS is one big popularity contest. >.>
