Had dinner with my supervisor today.
We meet at a great italian restaurant near my place.
soon as we sat down she hands me back the package I had shipped to her and says:
"Only an idiot would do the work of a phd for their master's thesis, and you are one of them."
I smiled back and responded: "I'll take that as a compliment"

OK -- I posted this to the mailing list also, but I was saying that I didn't know that you were also working on a book. I'm guessing from this that it's more of a theoretical book rather than an anthology of personal narratives. Can I pass on your e-mail address to Amber and let her get in touch with you? It's about women in same-sex relations living in pakistan. it's based on narratives I collected on my last trip to Pakistan and situating them in the context of postcolonial and queer theory. It pretty much uses the narratives to argue that neither Pstcol or queerthry are enough on their own to understand the realities of women in Pakistan.
