I got the same, but I have two huge problems with this test.

The first, a mace is not a ball and chain. A ball and chain on a stick is a flail. A mace is a ball on a stick, period. If it's got spikes, then it's a morning star.

The second, why isn't Hockey listed? That's much more violent.

A ball on a stick? If a mace is a ball on a stick without spikes then how can it hurt you? How the hell do they get a ball on a stick anyways? Crazy Glue? lol. Enlighten me Chad, purveyor of knowledge of medieval armaments. :D

Lemme hit you with a metal or wooden canteloupe on the end of a golf club and we'll see if it hurts.

There's actually a couple of maces, and I imagine Degner could get a lot more elaborate than me but the way that I'm aware of for making a mace was to make the balled end (sometimes with flanges which are sort of like metal blades, but not spikes) and the metal shaft coming off of it. The metal shaft was then connected to the wooden handle. They were effective horseback weapons. You rode through the crowd and used them kinda like a polo club, just on someone's skull instead of a polo ball.

(Let me know when I start boring you and anyone else let me know if I've gone from fact to bullshit and didn't know it)

Flails (ball & chain) are actually really hard to use from what I understand. It was apparently REALLY easy to smack the shit out of yourself while twirling the chain.

But if a cantaloupe was met or wooden it would be less delicious. lol

Thanks for clearing things up. :)
