All things scary and bright

I did it.  I started watching Supernatural.  And can I tell you, I must be one heckuva wuss, because the pilot scared the dickens out of me!  Also, I think I might like Jared Padalecki more than Jensen Ackles, which I did not expect - and I got the impression Jensen is having the time of his life playing the scuzzy heavy (obviously, he's FAR too ( Read more... )

Okay, I did it - I watched the second episode... and yes, it still scared me - I don't know that I'll ever enjoy camping again. (SUCH a wuss.) It wasn't as bad as the pilot, true, and hasn't lingered the same way... whew. Dean seems to have had a wee bit of a personality transplant, though - he had more of a "bringing the crazy" vibe in the opener, and he morphed down to "could-be-broody snarky bad boy" - I can definitely see how that would appeal to this crowd!
I THINK I liked Sam better than Dean in the pilot, but now I'm starting to like Jensen a little better than Jared - I need Jared to step it up a little, 'cause I do like Sam and want to see a little more form to his character. (Yeah, his CHARACTER. Heh.)

Here's hoping I numb up a little bit in the next few episodes!

Hee. Great costume/pic!

I have a crush on the guy in the picture, who plays my "boss" - but I'm working on getting over that.
Well, if he can do a really really good "Speed Test" I think the crush is perfectly understandable.

SUPERNATURAL!!!! YAY!

(DO stick with it. It's SOOOO worth it! Takes a little while to warm up to it's full potential. But if you don't love it completely by 6 or 7 episodes in...I, owe you lunch or something.)

Oh, he's amazing. At the first rehearsal he came in with his hair slicked back, in a bow tie and sweater vest - and sang the hell out of "Speed Test". I fell right then. Oy. (I'm Flannery, so the two of us have our own "office secrets" - it's fun.)

I'm still a little nervous about SPN, but I'm determined to keep going - I may try to hold off going totally head-over-heels for it until the 8th or 9th episode, just to get that lunch! ;-)
