TNA and the Shakespeare Meme

Although as both concern clowns and fools ...

Dear TNA, I'm giving you this comment free. If you somehow cheat James Storm of his victory at Lockdown, I am joining in the Tennessee riot. I know you enjoy feasting on the tears of your fans and viewers, but that will be one step too far.

The Bully Ray bit was so much so what. Not Bully Ray's fault but that kind of threat only works if the audience actually buys into you being able to carry it out, and I never felt Bully Ray could.

My dear beloved Zeema Ion vs Austin Aries was fun.

Dear TNA, splitting up a tag team only works if we care. A grand total of 0 people cared about Morgan and Crimson. That being said, I look forward to their singles matches. But that is for entirely bad reasons.

Also, splitting up one of your two tag teams, even if it's so that we do get JoeMagnus vs the Motor City Machine Guns, strikes me as being somewhat short-sighted. Is it some unwritten TNA code that there can never be more than two active tag teams at any one time?

Gail Kim vs Madison Rayne - which I think finally proves that my issue with various Madison Rayne vs Velvet Sky matches was Velvet Sky (I have seen good Madison Rayne matches, I can't say the same for Velvet Sky). Good match.

The whole Kaz 'n' Daniels thing still makes no sense. Example: Borash was trying to interview Kazarian and Daniels interrupted saying it didn't matter what Kazarian thought because this was Daniels thing, something Anderson had no right to stick his nose into, Anderson will learn the error of his ways, the great glory of Daniels etc. And that's fine, Daniels is a monomaniacal control freak. No issues there. It's Kazarian just taking it that I have problems with. I mean, the dynamic isn't unusual, but it's normally big brother / little brother tag teams, or a tag team where one member is sufficiently older / more experienced than the other. Notice something about the tag team we're discussing here though. Neither of these situations fits. Why is Frankie not objecting? I don't care what reason we're given, as long as we're given one. And soon.

Angle vs Hardy - Why again with the bullshit finishes TNA? Why do you want to annoy your audience so much? And yea though I dislike RL families being brought up in wrestling, as a background to the match 'All-American' bad guy Kurt Angle is annoyed that his son and heir has Jeff Hardy, make-up wearing, oddball wastrel Jeff Hardy, posters on the wall, is a good one.

The whole tweeting thing was annoying all night - I think Opera said it best when she said something about wrestling trying to catch lightening in a bottle rather than just letting it happen [misquote mine] - but it did lead to Sting making my night by saying 'I sick of talking, twittering and facebooking. Right now I feeling like wrestling'. I know I have all kinds of problems with this angle but it's Sting and I love him.

The twittering thing is getting out of hand. I mean, TNA, you always pride yourselves on being the alternative to WWE, why are you pulling the same thing? Twitter is twitter, it is ephemeral, people will or won't talk about things because they want to. This very morning, Twitter was full of people talking about Greg Doran getting the artistic directorship of the RSC, tonight it'll be One Direction and whatever they've done to annoy their fanbase today. And that's the cool thing about twitter. You can't force it.

(Actually, at the moment, there's a really interesting discussion going on under #copyrightgreyareas )

Shakespeare Meme - Day 6 - Favourite Clown

I think this one is one of those problems with change in society through time. Because, as a general rule, the bits in Shakespeare plays that people don't get tend to be the clowns (and I'm quite often with the people that don't get). Some characters, like the Porter in Macbeth or the Gravediggers is fine but other characters like Launcelot bloody Gobbo are pretty much a pox.

So I was a little stuck, until the wiki page on Shakespearean Clowns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakespearean_fool) mentioned that Puck might count. Therefore I'm going with Puck.
